# Five-minute times tables practice, if the right facts show up

> Five due facts after snack. Leave the rest of the table alone until they are actually due.

After snack, or in the gap before car line. That is the slot that actually exists.

## Why a short session is easier to keep

Long sessions invite arguing and phone-checking. A five-minute box is small enough that doing it again tomorrow is believable, and tomorrow is when they have to sit down again.

The minutes have to land on the facts that are due. Picking five questions at random, you might miss the ones that were about to fade. A schedule that picks them makes those five minutes count.

## Make the routine dull on purpose

Park it on the kitchen tablet for about five minutes. A dull routine is the one you will still do on a random Tuesday. Cramming still happens in this house sometimes. The dull version is the one that is still there in March.

Progress stays on that device, so you skip making an account. If you later need a second phone or laptop, you can add an email and a password. Most families never do.
