What you can put on the page
Times tables 2 through 12, the other factor’s range, 20 to 100 problems, mixed or grouped by table, and a clock line if the classroom quiz is timed. Leave it untimed if a countdown already makes the evening worse. You need 7 × 8 back, not a second test.
The answer key is a separate page so it can be folded back. Name, date, and score sit on hairline rules. The sheet is black and white on purpose: no filled banners, no colored boxes, cheap to photocopy.
A quiz is a snapshot. Thursday still has to hold.
A printed multiplication quiz is useful the morning of the test. It is a poor way to spend the rest of the week. The sheet runs 2 × 5 as often as 7 × 8, and it cannot remember which fact went blank.
Keep the paper for quiz day. Use the other days for short practice that brings the wobbly tables back before they slip. TimesOwl does that in about five minutes: typed answers, one fact at a time, each with its own next date.

Multiplication quiz questions
Can I choose which times tables are on the multiplication quiz?
Yes. Turn on the 6s, the 7s, the 8s, or any mix from 2 through 12. Set the other factor from 0–12 or keep the usual 2–12. “Both ways” puts 7 × 6 and 6 × 7 on the page.
Is the PDF made on your servers?
No. The quiz is assembled in this browser and downloaded as a PDF. TimesOwl never sees the sheet, the name line, or which tables you picked.
Should a multiplication quiz be timed?
Only if that is how the classroom quiz is written. This generator can print a minutes line or leave the page untimed. If timed tests already cause panic, print the untimed version and save the clock for school.
Does the multiplication quiz include an answer key?
Yes, on its own page, unless you turn that off. Fold it back or keep it until the quiz is finished. Missed facts are the next few days of practice.
Why not only print quizzes instead of using TimesOwl?
A sheet cannot tell a strong 3 × 2 from a shaky 7 × 8, so it spends the same ink on both. TimesOwl keeps a next-ask date on each fact and runs about five minutes. Print the quiz for Thursday. Practice is what makes Thursday hold.
